Good morning Lovelies!!!
Yes, it has been a LONG time. Alot has been happening with stress from my job spilling over into my personal life. I would come home drained and depressed coupled with therapy from my accident and the last thing I wanted to do was come on here and share make up. Sorry for that.
But I am back-jobless but renewed with faith that God is in control and he has a divine plan that is working this situation out for me.
I recently embarked on a natural journey. My hair is already natural so thats fine but I noticed that my skin wasnt so I decided to change that.
To start off I'll let ya all know I have sensitive skin. I also have exzema so I have to be careful of what I put on my face and also I have to always make sure its mositurized or my exzema will come back and I really dont want that. Lately I noticed that I was breaking out ALOT and no matter what I did my face just wouldnt calm down. I figured it was my diet so I tried to cut certain foods out but it didnt help. The last straw was when I came home from playing mas in Caribana, washed my face and woke up the next morning with 3 really big bumps on the side of my face. At that point I said forget it. AS much as I loved Aveeno I had to admit that right now it wasnt working out for me and I needed to make a change or my complextion and face were going to conitnual to spiral down to a place that I didnt want it to go.
So this Monday August 8th 2010 I went to the African Beauty Supplystore down the stret from me and bought some African Black Soap (the real stuff thats bown not the commercialized black bar of soap), a small bag of shea butter and some Jamaican Black Castor Oil. I have small half sized sandwich bags so I broke off a piece of the ABS (African Black Soap) lather my fingers under some running water and lather it on my face andproceed to wash away. It works well to wash off make up aswell. I then dampen my face with water and seal it on with some EVOO (Extra Virgin Oilive oil). Yes EVOO. I have naturally oily skin and after doing some research coupled with an example from a real life 40 y.o African woman who looks 25 *we asked and she told us she swears by EVOO on her face before bed time. Not a wrinkle in sight and I decided to give it a try. I am pleased. The ABS cleans my face really well and seems to be fading my dark spots. I usually wake up with a new bump somewhere on my face so far nothing. My face drinks up the olive oil and leaves it touchable soft. I am going to do a review next monday and give my 1 week prgress report on my experience with using this regimen. Its simple and I really like that.
Shea Butter
I plan to use this on my hair and skin, namely my feet. I loove my pedicaure lady but $35 plus tip every 2 weeks starts to add up. I want to visit her less often especially now that I am being conservative with my money so I am excited to get on this venture. I plan to mix my shea with some coconut oil and apply that to my hair.
JBCO (aka Jamaican Black Castor Oil)
K, I am SUPER DUPER excited about this oil. I have been trying to get my hands on this product for what seems like FOREVER! I finally have. I have a small 4 oz bottle for $10 that I was finally able to track down. YIPEE for me.
I plan to use it for the following
*combine with with my mega-tek and apply it to my scalp twice a day
*rub it on my eyelashes to increase the growth rate
*rub it on my hairline-now I dont have a damaged hairline but I want to maintain what I have because I wear alot of synthetic LF's and I dont want the combs and the edges rubbing it off
*Disclaimer...
My next post is going ot be about something really personal to women. So if you are not easy with reading about vagina's and the common issues that they have then please skip over this next post. Dont say I didnt warn you
